days of summer- 11

Every new season of life... all are spring seasons, springboards to new opportunities and adventures.

... We have to see these times of transition as a gift of life, not a season just to be endured or even just passively experienced. God invites us to look and to see with the eyes of our hearts all that is good, to find peace and rest in what is important, and to discard any things that would distract us from the life He offers. Spring is a time to live fully in the present, love deeply, an celebrate the newness of life as it comes our way.
- "Reflections on Spring," Seasons of a Mother's Heart by Sally Clarkson

And so, even in the sultry heat of warm south Texas morning, we experienced a bit of spring as we sent that girl off on Friday morning, from a small airport busy with the hustle of two morning flights to the place that metropolis that holds the most people in the United States, New York City.
As we sent her off by herself.

It's a transition for us, a new season, to be without her for a month. Her youngest sisters cried. Her dog looks a bit lost. And yet, I rejoice, as I reflect on His generous provision to get her there and the amazing opportunity in front of her. Live fully, love deeply, and celebrate much, K-girl!
