Good Friday

1. Alas and did my savior bleed
Did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a fool as I?

Chorus: The strangeness of love,
my life in Your death
In Your brokenness
my wholeness revealed
Your bonds are my freedom,
Your sorrow my song
And by Your wounds I am healed

2. Was it for crimes that I have done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! Grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!

3. But drops of grief can ne'er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give my self away
'Tis all that I can do.

TAG: And by Your wounds I am healed.
