Early two-handed coffee and lingering and meandering conversation and prayer, a car wash and free vacuum, the crossword while waiting on laundry cycles, items off the to-do list, dinner and devotions and progress on a book- to be back in daily rhythms and routines, to do nothing extraordinary, to crawl into a crumpled up bed at the end of the day next to the one I love, all a sweet mercy.
