Hairy Eyeballs

That is fruit.
Really!

They are a relative of the lychee.
In English, the name is the rambutan.
In Spanish, they are the mamon china.
In my house, they are the hairy eyeballs.

To get to the fruit, you tear open the outside peel.  The fruit is inside, and resembles a peeled grape with a small pit.  My kids like them. 
I haven't decided. 

But they are fun to take a picture of...
